- Technical Assistance:
Discussion was held on the topics of current enrollment, current staffing, and that a search of the central registry (CPS check) will need to be done for Member #4 prior to November 2017 due to an upcoming birthday. Discussion of Standard #500.C1 - Outdoor play equipment not being over a hard surface. Currently, the FDH complies with this standard having the appropriate level of resilient surfacing based on the height of this outdoor equipment. The Provider inquired about using tiles as a surfacing. Based on the CPSC handbook for home outdoor equipment it encourages those seeking to use tile or poured in place surfacing to consult a professional service and to request a report based on the type of tile to be installed.
The following inspection took place between the hours of 9:30 am through 12 pm. Today, I met with the Provider on site at her Family Day Home (FDH) located in town, Virginia. At the start of this unannounced renewal inspection there were a total of 1 child (2 points) with 1 caregiver; the majority of children were on vacation this week. A total of 7 children?s files and 6 staff/household member?s files were reviewed. The child was engaged in the following: breakfast, hand washing, bathroom break, music, puzzles, and other organized activities. If you should have any future questions, please call. Thank you.
