Technical Assistance:
Inspector and provider discussed the following: 22VAC40-111-(11)-830-A - The emergency evacuation procedures shall be practiced monthly with all caregivers and children in care during all shifts that children are in care. 22VAC40-111-(11)-830-B - Shelter-in-place procedures shall be practiced a minimum of twice per year. VENDHOM-000-(7)-030-A-3 - Lock-down procedures shall be practiced at least annually.

Comments:
An unannounced subsidy health and safety inspection was conducted with the provider beginning at 12:00 PM and ending at 1:45 PM. An exit meeting was conducted with the provider on July 12, 2017. There was one child in care during the inspection. The child was was eight months old for a total of 4 points. The child was observed crawling, playing with soft dolls and plastic fruit with the provider. Diapering procedures were also observed. Two children's records were reviewed and in compliance. The provider's and two household members' records were reviewed and in compliance. The emergency evacuation drill logs were reviewed. There were no medications on site as the provider is not Medication Administration Training (MAT) certified which is required to administer medication. The first aid kit, flashlight, and weather band radio were observed an in compliance. Description: Based on review of documentation, the emergency preparedness plan was not complete. Evidence: The emergency preparedness plan did not contain lock-down procedures.

Plan of Correction: The provider will add lock-down procedures to the emergency preparedness plan and provide the information to the parents.
