An unannounced SHSI inspection was conducted on July 19th 2017 between 11:00am and 1:00pm. There were 12 children in the direct care of 3 staff members. Children were observed being fed, singing, building with blocks, and being diapered. The operational responsibilities, general record keeping, reports, training, and emergency drills were observed and inspected. Violations are listed on the violation notice. Standard #: VENDHOM-000-012-B Description: Based on record review, 2 of 4 staff members have not completed the Virginia Pre-Service Training for Child Care staff within the first 90 days of the subsidy contract being signed. Evidence; Staff #1 and Staff #4 have not completed the trainings Plan of Correction: We will try and finish them this week.
Standard #: VENDHOM-000-012-E-1 Description: Based on record review, 1 of 4 staff members does not have a current cardiopulmonary resuscitation certification. Evidence: Staff #1 does not have current CPR/FA training. Plan of Correction: I will schedule it with an instructor.
Standard #: VENDHOM-000-029-A Description: Based on observation and interview, the family day home does not have all the components of the emergency preparedness plan. Evidence: The provider does not currently have a lock down policy. Plan of Correction: I will be completing the lockdown procedure by Friday.
