Discussion held with provider that two shelter in place drills must be conducted and documented each year.
An unannounced renewal inspection was conducted today from 11:15am-12:20pm. During the inspection there were 10 children(31 points) directly supervised by 3 staff. The home, 3 staff records, 5 children?s records, evacuation drills, emergency supplies, and policies were inspected. There were no medications on site today, however the provider holds a current Medication Administrative Training certificate. Children were observed settling down for nap, spending floor play time with a caregiver and eating lunch. There was an abundant supply of books, toys, and materials for the children. The home was clean and organized. Areas of non-compliance are identified in the Violation Notice. Standard #: 22VAC40-111-960-E Description: Based on observation, not all bottles were labeled with the child's full name and the date. Evidence: A caregiver was observed preparing to be bottle-fed and the bottle was observed without a label with the child's name or the current date. Plan of Correction: Bottles will be labeled and dated.
Standard #: 22VAC40-111-210-A Description: Based on record review, caregivers did not have documented a minimum of 16 clock hours of training annually in areas relevant to their job responsibilities. Evidence: 1. #1 had documentation for 5 of the required 16 hours of training for the past year. 2. The provider stated that the certificates documenting the training have been misplaced. Plan of Correction: The provider will locate the certificates.
