Discussed new background check regulations.
An unannounced renewal inspection was conducted today from 8:35am-9:30am. At the time of inspection, 2 children (6 points) were directly supervised by the provider and two assistants. The sample size consisted of 4 children records, 2 household member records, and 1 caregiver records. There were no medications on site today and the provider is not MAT certified. Children were observed during arrival time and drawing pictures. There was an abundant supply of toys, and materials for the children. Area of non-compliance is identified in the Violation Notice. Standard #: 22VAC40-111-240-A Description: Areas and furnishings of the family day home, inside, were not maintained in a safe and operable condition. Evidence: In the downstairs bathroom, the toilet paper roll was broken exposing two metal pieces and one tile was missing next to the sink exposing the sub-floor. Plan of Correction: I will have these things fixed with a new tile and remove the toilet paper roll.
