Your time and assistance were appreciated during the unannounced renewal inspection conducted on September 18, 2017, between the hours of approximately 10:45 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. Nine children were enrolled and seven children were in the care of the provider on this date (15 points). One resident child was also present in the home. Five children's records and two assistants' records were reviewed and/or updated. The provider's record and one household member's record were up-to-date and, therefore, not updated. No medications were on site/administered, as is the policy of this family day home. Facility documents (attendance record, emergency evacuation drills, shelter-in-place drills and injury reports), posted information (daily schedule, emergency telephone numbers, menu, daily schedule and emergency evacuation diagram) and safety equipment/supplies were observed and/or reviewed. Lunches were provided by the children's parents. Program observation was completed. Activities observed on this date included: outdoor play; diapering, restroom and handwashing procedures; lunch; story and naptime. Adult/child interactions, behavior guidance and daily routines/transitions were also observed. The children knew and followed the daily routine and transitions well. Substantial compliance with the licensing standards was observed; no standards violations were cited during this inspection. Please contact me if you have questions concerning this inspection, the licensing standards and/or if I may be of assistance to you (540) 430-9262.

An adverse action is not final until a provider has exhausted or waived all due process rights. For compliance history prior to July 1, 2003, or information regarding the status of pending adverse actions, please contact the Licensing Inspector listed in the facility's information. The Virginia Department of Social Services (VDSS) is not responsible for any errors in or omissions from the compliance history information.Virginia Quality is a voluntary quality rating and improvement system for early care and education facilities serving children ages birth through pre-K.
