22VAC40-111 Medication Administration
Standard #: 22VAC40-111-750-A Description: Based on review of diaper ointments and creams, the provider did not obtain written authorization from the parent to apply diaper ointment or cream. Evidence: 1. Child C had an ointment labeled with the child's name on it, but did not have written authorization from the parent to apply diaper ointment. 2. Child D had a sunscreen labeled with the child's name on it, but did not have written authorization from the parent to apply the sunscreen. Plan of Correction: I will return the products to the parents today. If they would like to continue using them, I will have them fill out a form.
Standard #: 22VAC40-111-760-A-1 Description: Based on review, the first aid kit did not contain the minimum required items. Evidence: 1. The first aid kit did not contain a first aid instructional manual. Plan of Correction: I will get a first aid manual.
Standard #: 22VAC40-111-120-B Description: Based on review, the assistant's record was not complete. Evidence: 1. The Assistant's record did not have documentation of two references. The provider stated that one reference was called, but did not have documentation. Plan of Correction: I will call for the reference today.
Standard #: 22VAC40-111-60-B Description: Based on review, children's records were not complete. Evidence: 1. Child A did not have documentation of a yearly review of child's emergency contact information. 2. Child B did not have documentation of a yearly review of child's emergency contact information and did not have parents work place and address. Plan of Correction: I will ask them for the information today.
