Written lockdown procedures reviewed
An unannounced subsidy health and safety inspection was conducted on 10/03/2017 from 10:45am - 12:30pm. A monitoring inspection to review family day home standards was additionally conducted. Children were observed playing in the child care room with the assistant. One diaper change was reviewed. Records were reviewed for the provider, four caregivers and one household member. Records for the five children in care were reviewed.
Standard #: VENDHOM-000-029-B-5 Description: Based on record review and interview, the vendor failed to ensure that the emergency preparedness plan for the family day home contained written lockdown procedures. Evidence: 1. The written emergency plan lacked lockdown procedures. 2. The vendor confirmed that lockdown procedures had not been added to the emergency plan for the family day home. Plan of Correction: The provider stated that a written lockdown plan will be added to the emergency plan within 30 days.
