Written lockdown procedures reviewed

An unannounced subsidy health and safety inspection was conducted on 10/03/2017 from 10:45am - 12:30pm. A monitoring inspection to review family day home standards was additionally conducted. Children were observed playing in the child care room with the assistant. One diaper change was reviewed. Records were reviewed for the provider, four caregivers and one household member. Records for the five children in care were reviewed.

Standard #: VENDHOM-000-029-B-5
Description: Based on record review and interview, the vendor failed to ensure that the emergency preparedness plan for the family day home contained written lockdown procedures. Evidence: 1. The written emergency plan lacked lockdown procedures. 2. The vendor confirmed that lockdown procedures had not been added to the emergency plan for the family day home.

Plan of Correction: The provider stated that a written lockdown plan will be added to the emergency plan within 30 days.

A compliance history is in no way a rating for a facility.

The online compliance history includes only information after July 1, 2003. In addition, the online compliance history includes information regarding adverse actions that may be the subject of a pending appeal. An adverse action is not final until a provider has exhausted or waived all due process rights. For compliance history prior to July 1, 2003, or information regarding the status of pending adverse actions, please contact the Licensing Inspector listed in the facility's information. The Virginia Department of Social Services (VDSS) is not responsible for any errors in or omissions from the compliance history information.
