Technical Assistance:
Discussed requirement for annual lockdown drill and notifying the department of any serious injuries.

Comments:
A Subsidy Health and Safety inspection was conducted on October 20, 2017 to review supplemental health and safety requirements. 7 children (12 points) were present with 2 caregivers. Ratios were in compliance. Today?s inspection began at 9:55am. The physical space, attendance records, handwashing/diapering procedures, food service area, emergency supplies and drills, injury reports, children's records and caregiver records were reviewed. Required documents were posted. Hazardous substances were discussed. A licensing inspection was conducted on September 26, 2017 as the SHSI supplemental inspection; the two inspections combined cover all subsidy health and safety requirements. Only subsidy requirements that are not covered in licensing standards are reviewed during this supplemental inspection. Areas of non-compliance are identified in the Violation Notice.

Violations:
Standard #: VENDHOM-000-012-A
Description: Based on interview with provider, the vendor and 3 assistants did not complete the Virginia Pre-Service Training for Child Care Staff sponsored by the Department of Social Services. Evidence: The Provider, Assistant #1, Assistant #2 and Assistant #3 did not have the Preservice Training certificate available for review.

Plan of Correction: We have all started the training and will have the training completed by next week. We will email you the certificates.
