A Subsidy Health and Safety inspection was conducted on October 17, 2017 to review supplemental health and safety requirements. There were 5 children in care, for a total of 16 points with two caregivers.
At the onset of the inspection, the children were eating a lunch of sweet peas, macaroni with sauce and cheese and either fruit cocktail or applesauce. Seconds of food was given to the children upon request. The facility administers medication and the provider is MAT certified. The facility does not provide transportation. The last evacuation drill was conducted 9/7/17. The most recent shelter-in-place was conducted 8/23/17. Two caregiver records and 5 children?s records were reviewed. A licensing inspection was also conducted this date; the two inspections combined cover all subsidy health and safety requirements. Only subsidy requirements that are not covered in licensing standards are reviewed during this supplemental inspection. Violations were found.

Standard #: VENDHOM-000-004-F Description: Based on observations at the facility, the facility did not ensure that a current list of all children's allergies, sensitivities and dietary restrictions was posted. EVIDENCE: The facility did not post of list of children's allergies that contained the food allergy information for child #1. Plan of Correction: A list of children's allergies will be posted.
Standard #: VENDHOM-000-029-B-5 Description: Based on a review of the facility's emergency preparedness plan, the facility did not ensure that the lockdown procedures included all required components. EVIDENCE: The lockdown procedures did not include: methods to alert caregivers and emergency responders, methods to account for children in a lockdown location, methods of communication with parents, accommodations or special requirements for infants and toddlers and procedures to reunite children with parents or an authorized designated individual. Plan of Correction: I will review the subsidy requirements and update the lockdown procedures.
