Today an unannounced Monitoring inspection was conducted with Maria Montiel. This visit took place in the morning between 9:30am and 11:00am. There were 6 children present with the provider and 1 assistant for a total of 19 points. The children were observed playing independently as well as in small groups. Lots of interactions with the children were observed. Today's morning snack was goldfish and water. A complete inspection of the physical plant, children and staff records, fire drill log, menu, attendance and emergency procedures were observed during this inspection. Standard #: 22VAC40-111-960-E
Description: Based on observation, children's bottles were not labeled with the date. Evidence: Child #1 had two bottles in the refrigerator without today's date.

Plan of Correction: This was corrected during the inspection.

Standard #: 22VAC40-111-60-B
Description: Based on record review, children's did not contain all required information. Evidence: Child #1 file was missing the addresses for both emergency contacts and a list of people authorized to pick-up. Child #4 file is missing the child's first date of attendance.

Plan of Correction: We will ask the parents today for the information to be available today.

Standard #: 22VAC40-111-230-A
Description: Based on record review, the provider did not obtain documentation of a caregivers education and programmatic experience. Evidence: There was no documentation of education or experience on file for Caregiver #2

Plan of Correction: We will get this information as soon as she is finished.

Standard #: 22VAC40-111-680-B
Description: Based on observation, children's hands were not washed before eating. Evidence: Children were observed sitting at the table and in their high chairs for their morning snack. The children's hands were not washed prior to eating.

Plan of Correction: We will start doing that today at lunch.
