An unannounced renewal study was conducted from 9:30 am - 11:00 am. There were five children in care with the provider ages 23 months, 23 months, 2 years, 3 years, and 3 years for a total of 12 points. The children were observed participating in circle time activities. Lunch served today is Turkey sandwich, applesauce, green beans, and milk. Five children's records were reviewed and in compliance. The provider and one assistant record's were reviewed. The provider and assistant are current in CPR and First Aid. The provider has obtained 17 hours of annual training. Reportedly, the provider does not administer medication to children in the family day home at this time. The most recent emergency escape drill was conducted 11/3/17. The weather band radio, first aid kit, and flashlight were observed and in compliance. Standard #: 22VAC40-111-180-A Description: Based on review of the provider and one assistant record it was determined that not all Tuberculosis (TB) Screenings were were repeated every two years. Evidence the most recent TB screening on file for the provider was dated 11/17/15. Plan of Correction: The provider will obtain an updated TB screening.
Standard #: 22VAC40-191-60-C-1 Description: Based on review of one assistant record it was determined that not all employee's were denied continued employment after not receiving results of criminal history check within the first 30 days of employment. Evidence: Staff A with a start date of 5/30/17 did not have results of a criminal history check on file. Although staff A was not present during the inspection, it was reported by the provider that staff A currently works at the family day home. Plan of Correction: Staff A will not be permitted to work at the family day home until satisfactory results of a criminal history check have been obtained.
