Technical Assistance:
We reviewed safe diapering practices. Some suggestions were made for removal of weeds at the pea gravel and the type of mats used on the gravel. Also, we talked about changes with sworn statements and background checks. We discussed recent licensing related e-mail notices.

Comments:
Thank you for your assistance during today's unannounced renewal inspection conducted from 11:15 AM to 2:40 PM. Today, there were nine to ten children in care, infancy through age five years, with two caregivers. Two school age children received care before school and were expected after school. Fourteen children were enrolled. I viewed program activities, daily routines, lunch, menu, equipment, diapering procedures, posted information, five records for children, pet record, four records for caregivers/residents, caregiver training, emergency supplies and drill records, emergency plan, indoor and outdoor areas. The children have been provided a developmentally appropriate routine. The outside large playground area surfacing for equipment was replaced with pea gravel and the older border boards were replaced. Records were well organized and complete. The provider has demonstrated substantial compliance with minimum standards. A renewed regular license will be recommended. Let me know if you have any questions. 540/430-9259
