Discussed legislation changes to the background checks.

An unannounced monitoring inspection was initiated today at 1:15pm. The physical plant, 3 caregiver/household member files, 5 children's files, caregiver training, child nutrition, children's activities, emergency procedures, drills and supplies were inspected today. There were 7 children, totaling 18 points, under the supervision of 2 caregivers. During the inspection, children were observed finishing their lunch, cleaning up for and resting at nap time. The interactions between the children and caregivers were seen to be positive and constructive in nature. Today, the children were served hotdogs with buns, baked beans, oranges and milk. The Provider is not currently certified in MAT (medication administration training) and there are no children with any medication needs. Should you have any questions, please contact me at

Description: Based on file review, 1 out of 5 children's records has not been updated annually. Evidence 1. Child #3's record was last updated on 9/27/16.

Plan of Correction: The Provider will ask the parents to update this.

Standard #: 22VAC40-111-180-A
Description: Based on file review, caregiver/household member #2 does not have a TB screening completed within the past two years. Evidence 1. Caregiver/household member #2's TB test/screening was last completed on 8/18/15.

Plan of Correction: This will be completed again.

Standard #: 22VAC40-191-40-D-3-d
Description: Based on file review, caregiver/household member #2 does not have a search of the central registry (SCR) or criminal history record check (CRC) completed before three years since the last checks were completed. Evidence 1. Caregiver/household member #2's most recent SCR was completed on 8/7/14 and CRC was completed on 7/21/14.

Plan of Correction: These checks were submitted three weeks ago, but have not been received yet.
