Technical Assistance:
Discussed daily schedule and activities and was consulted on programming that encourages creativity and exploration. Discussed the importance of outdoor play and the importance of planned activities for the children. Discussed proper hand washing techniques.

Today an unannounced Monitoring inspection took place between 11:20am and 2:00pm. There were 3 children present with the provider for a total of 6 points within the supervision guidelines. Napping, eating lunch, playing independently and being read to. A complete inspection of the physical plant, children and staff records, fire drill log, menu, attendance and emergency procedures were observed during this inspection. Standard #: 22VAC40-111-760-A-1
Description: Based on observation, the providers first aid kit did not contain all required supplies. Evidence: The provider did not have two triangular bandages.

Plan of Correction: I will buy them today.

Standard #: 22VAC40-111-830-A
Description: Based on record review, emergency evacuation drills were not practiced monthly. Evidence: There was no documentation of an evacuation drill practiced during the month of November.

Plan of Correction: I think I forgot. I will remember for this month.

Standard #: 22VAC40-111-880
Description: Based on observation, that provider did not serve a meal that meets that nutritional requirements of a recognized authority such as the Child and Adult Care Food Program of the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA). Evidence: Today's lunch was peanut butter soup, which consisted of a peanut butter gray and meat over rice, and chocolate milk. There were no fruit or vegetables offered to the children.

Plan of Correction: I try to give it to them but they don't like vegetables. I will give it to them.

Description: Based on record review and observation, the provider's food menu did not meet all requirements. Evidence: This week's menu is not posted in an area accessible to the parents. When asked for this weeks menu, today's lunch should have been goat meat, eggplant, bread and milk, however peanut butter soup and chocolate milk was served to the children.

Plan of Correction: I'm going to do it this weekend.

Description: Based on observation, a rest mat did not have at least one inch of cushioning. Evidence: During the inspection, one child was observed resting on a blanket on the floor. There was not one inch of cushioning between the child and the floor.

Plan of Correction: I'll give all the children a mat.

Description: Based on observation and interview, the provider did not have the most recent inspection summary posted. Evidence: During the inspection it was observed that the most recent inspection summary was not posted. The provider was able to locate the summary put away in a binder.
