Comments:
An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted from 11:15 am - 12:30 pm. There were five children in care with the provider and one assistant ages 2 years, 2 years, 2 years, 4 years, and 4 years for a total of 10 points. The children were observed participating in free play and eating lunch. Lunch served today is hamburger on bun, green beans, apples, and milk. Five children's records were reviewed and in compliance. The provider and one assistant records were reviewed and in compliance. Two medications were reviewed. The provider is MAT (Medication Administration Training) certified. The provider and assistant are current in CPR and First Aid. The most recent emergency escape drill was conducted 11/15/2017 and the most recent shelter in place drill was conducted 9/6/2017. Standard #: 22VAC40-111-710
Description: Based on review of two medication's it was determined that not all policies regarding administering prescription medications were followed. Evidence: The emergency medication for Child A had an expiration date of 10/2017.

Plan of Correction: The provider requested a new emergency medication from the parent of Child A during the inspection.
