Discussed the Code changes for background checks and the upcoming fingerprint requirement.
An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted this date. A total of 7 children (21pts) with Provider and 2 assistants. At the beginning of the inspection, children were observed finishing breakfast. Hand washing and diapering procedures observed. Staff were observed reading a holiday book to the children who were sitting in circle time. Children observed playing with legos, a variety of toys and playing with each other. Positive interaction with staff and children observed. Staff were encouraging children to walk, holding them and playing with them on the floor. A total of 4 children's records reviewed and all staff records were reviewed. The home was decorated for the holiday and pictures of children as gingerbread were on display. Standard #: 22VAC40-111-690-D Description: Based on observation of the physical plant, the diapering surface was determined no longer absorbent. Evidence: Both diapering surfaces has a torn area and is no longer absorbent. Plan of Correction: We will replace both diaper mats.
