Comments:
A Subsidy Health and Safety inspection was conducted on 1/3/2018 to review supplemental health and safety requirements. The following inspection took place between the hours of 10:30 am through 1:00pm. Today, I met with the Provider on site at the Family Day Home (FDH). At the start of this unannounced monitoring inspection there were a total of 4 children (10 points) with 1 caregiver. A total of 5 children's files and 4 staff/household member's files were reviewed. The children were engaged in the following: toy play, lunch, bathroom breaks, hand washing, and other organized activities. A licensing inspection was also conducted this date; the two inspections combined cover all subsidy health and safety requirements. Only subsidy requirements that are not covered in licensing standards are reviewed during this supplemental inspection. Violations were found during the supplemental subsidy health and safety inspection requirements and are identified on the violation notice.

Violations:
Standard #: VENDHOM-000-005-B
Description: Based on a review of attendance, arrival and departure of children was not documented as it occurred. Evidence: Upon inspector arrival 4 children were observed in care; however, 5 children were noted on attendance [including a child anticipated to arrive for after school].

Plan of Correction: I will make sure to write the children in as they arrive and not before then.

Standard #: VENDHOM-000-030-A-3
Description: Based on a review of emergency response drills, lockdown procedures were not practiced annually. Evidence: There was no documentation of lockdown procedures practiced from January 2017 to December 2017.

Plan of Correction: I will make sure to practice the lockdown procedures this year.
