Licensing inspector discussed required drills and background checks with provider.
An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted today from approximately 10:30am-12pm. There were 11 children (plus 2 of providers children totalling at 33 points) directly supervised by 3 caregivers. A sample of 6 children?s records, 2 staff records and 1 household member's records were reviewed. The children were observed dancing, coloring, drawing letters and numbers, playing with toys and washing hands. Zero new staff have been hired since the last inspection. Standard #: 22VAC40-111-830-C Description: Based on record review and interview with provider, documentation of evacuation drills were not kept. Evidence: The evacuation drills for October, November and December were not recorded. The provider stated that these drills were performed and not recorded. Plan of Correction: I will update my records.
Standard #: 22VAC40-111-340-C Description: Based on observation, the contents required for the bathroom were missing. Evidence: There were no paper towels in the bathroom. The provider has an electric air blower for the children to dry their hands. Plan of Correction: I will add paper towels.
