Technical Assistance:
**Discussed requirements for new employee and house hold member background checks. **Attendance should be taken within 30 minutes of child's arrival to the family day home.

An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted today from 9:30am-10:03am. There were 8 children(16 points) including a child who resides in the home, directly supervised by the provider. The child care area, 2 new student records and new household member's records were reviewed. Children were observed playing freely building cooperatively with large blocks and coloring. There was an abundant supply of books, toys, and materials for the children. The home was clean and organized. Areas of non-compliance are identified in the Violation Notice. Standard #: 22VAC40-111-830-D
Description: Based on observation and provider statement, records of emergency drills were not maintained for one year. Evidence: The emergency drills conducted in November and Decemner of 2017 were not retained.

Plan of Correction: I will retain the fire drill records moving forward.

Standard #: 22VAC40-111-540-A
Description: Based on observation, not all children in high chairs were secured by a safety strap. Evidence: A child was observed seated and then standing in a high chair as a result of not being secured with the safety strap.

Plan of Correction: I will ensure to fasten the safety strap when high chairs are occupied.
