Reviewed the dates for completing all required fingerprint background checks.
An unannounced full renewal inspection was conducted today. The provider and one assistant caregiver were caring for 6 children, totaling 12 points. Children's records, caregiver records, adult household records, the physical plant, children's nutrition, background checks, and caregiver training records were inspected today. The provider reported that no children's medications were on site today. This inspection took place in the middle of the day. All children were observed taking their afternoon nap. The children had been served lintels with rice, mixed vegetables, sliced grapes, and milk for lunch earlier in the day. This inspection was completed between approximately 12:00pm and 1:20 pm. Thank you for meeting with me today. If you have any questions regarding this inspection please email me at firstname.lastname@example.org
Standard #: 22VAC40-111-320-E Description: Based on observations, it was determined that one portable heater was not maintained as required. Evidence: The provider has one small portable heater in place in the child care area. It has been placed on top of a short shelf. The provider has not placed a barrier or a screen around the heater in order to keep it inaccessible to the children. Plan of Correction: I will put a portable barrier around the heater.
