Technical Assistance:
We discussed the requirements for hot water. The risk assessment for a violation was provided. Also, you were provided information regarding approved cribs manufactured after June 2012. Also, we reviewed requirements for emergency drills, emergency planning and training, background checks, outdoor safety, children's records and diapering procedures. Recommendations were made for the location of the diapering table and easy access to a hand sink.

Comments:
Thank you for your assistance during the initial inspection conducted from 12:30 PM to 4:15 PM. Today, there were not any of the four enrolled children present. There have been two caregivers available for the children. I viewed equipment, posted information, emergency plan, four records for children, four records for caregivers, caregiver training, residents, food service routines and storage, emergency supplies, indoor and outdoor areas. Systems were in place for organizing required records. Recommendation for issuance of the license is pending due to needed information regarding resident background checks. Let me know if you have any questions. 540/430-9259

Violations:
Standard #: 22VAC40-111-350-E
Description: Based on the measurement of the hot water temperature at the bathroom sink, and an interview with the provider, the hot water temperature exceeded 120 degrees F. Evidence: The hot water temperature reached 147 degrees.

Plan of Correction: The provider will contact the homeowner and arrange to turn down the hot water heater regulator to make sure the hot water is no higher than 120 degrees.
