An exit meeting was completed by the licensing inspector with the caregiver to review today's inspection findings. The licensing inspector reviewed the fingerprinting process updates to ensure compliance.
The licensing inspector completed an unannounced monitoring inspection on Tuesday, February 20, 2018 from approximately 12:40 pm to 1:49 pm to determine the provider's compliance with licensing standards at the family day home. During this inspection, there were 12 children totaling 32 points being cared for by four caregivers. The licensing inspector observed the children in care completing a variety of tasks to include transitioning from lunch time, completing bathroom breaks and handwashing, and preparing for napping. The children's lunch today consisted of mac and cheese, carrots, green beans, and milk. The licensing inspector completed observation of the caregiver diapering at the designated diapering station. The diapering station was inspected and determined to be in compliance with licensing standards. The inspector completed observation of the children asleep in the designated napping areas. The licensing inspector also interacted with the caregivers and the children in care when appropriate. The caregivers were observed providing age appropriate supervision and addressing children's overall needs. The family day homes' kitchen, bathroom, napping area/crib, and indoor play areas were inspected. The designated areas for childcare were deemed appropriate and equipped with age appropriate equipment and materials to meet the ages and stages of development of the children in care. The licensing inspector reviewed the required postings to include license, prior inspection summary, emergency contact information and breakfast and lunch menus. The first aid kit and emergency supplies, and fire and shelter-in-place drills were inspected and determined to be in compliance with the licensing standards. During this inspection, three children's, and two substitute providers/assistants' records were reviewed for compliance of standards. Currently, there are no medications being administered by the caregiver or transportation provided at the family day home.
Last fire drill: 01/24/18
Last shelter in place drills: 10/24/17 & 12/11/17

A compliance history is in no way a rating for a facility.
The online compliance history includes only information after July 1, 2003. In addition, the online compliance history includes information regarding adverse actions that may be the subject of a pending appeal. An adverse action is not final until a provider has exhausted or waived all due process rights. For compliance history prior to July 1, 2003, or information regarding the status of pending adverse actions, please contact the Licensing Inspector listed in the facility's information. The Virginia Department of Social Services (VDSS) is not responsible for any errors in or omissions from the compliance history information.
