An unannounced, mandated monitoring inspection was conducted today. Four children, totaling nine points were in care with two caregivers. Morning activities and lunch preparation was observed. A sample size of three caregiver/household member records and five children's records were reviewed today. No children's injuries were reported and it was reported that no medication has been administered to children in care. It was stated that, due to moisture problems in the back yard, the children continue to be taken to the neighborhood park for outdoor play. An exit meeting was conducted with the provider prior to closure of the inspection.
Standard #: 22VAC40-191-40-D-4-a Description: Based upon review of three caregiver/household records and provider interview, the provider has not ensured that a criminal history record check is obtained within 30 days of a person residing in the family day home turning 18 years of age. Evidence: 1. Caregiver/household member 3 turned 18 years old on 9/28/2017. A criminal history record check was not in the records. 2. The provider stated that she thought that she had misplaced the criminal history check but was unable to locate it. Plan of Correction: The provider responded with the following: A fingerprint check will be obtained as soon as can be scheduled. The Licensing office will be notified within ten days of the scheduled date for the fingerprinting. Licensing will be notified when the fingerprinting has been received.
