- Technical Assistance:
Provided the phone number for OBI, the provider obtained the fieldprint code during this inspection. The Inspector will email the provider the children forms, attendance record form, fire drill form, emergency preparedness form and child physical and immunization record. Discussed the changes to the background checks, they are all good for 5 years now. Reviewed the point system for children. Reviewed proper diapering and hand washing, including labeling diaper creams and keeping them out of reach of children. Discussed that the Fairfax county permit forms for children do not include all the state requirements, the provider will use the State model forms.
An announced initial inspection was conducted today between the hours of 9:00 am through 12:00. There were a total of 3 children (including the provider's own child) (10 points) with 1 caregiver. A total of 3 children's files and 2 staff/household member's files were reviewed. The house was inspected, the childcare is in the lower level of the home. Four cribs were inspected and meet the crib requiremnts. The children were engaged in the following: toy play, books, painting, diapering and blocks. Standard #: 22VAC40-111-760-A Description: Based on observation, the provider has not obtained a complete first aid kit. Evidence: Triangular bandages were missing from the first aid kit. Plan of Correction: I will buy triangular bandages.
Standard #: 22VAC40-111-770 Description: Based on observation, the provider has not purchased a weather band radio. Evidence: The provider stated that she has not purchased a weather band radio. Plan of Correction: I will buy a weather band radio.
Standard #: 22VAC40-111-800-A Description: Based on record review, the provider does not have a complete emergency preparedness and response plan. Evidence: The provider has a Fairfax County emergency plan but does not contain all the state requirements. Plan of Correction: I will complete the State emergency preparedness plan.
Standard #: 22VAC40-111-50-A Description: Based on record review, the family day home does not have a record of attendance for each child in care. Evidence: There is no record of attendance for the 2 children in care. Plan of Correction: I will complete the daily attendance.
