The following was discussed with the licensee: requirements for field trips and transporation
An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted from 12:20pm - 2:20pm. Upon arrival there were 4 children in care with 5 points and one caregiver. All 4 children's records were reviewed in addition to all household members, and the family dog. Children were observed finishing lunch and during nap.
Standard #: 22VAC40-111-240-A Description: Based on observation the licensee did not ensure all areas of the home, inside and outside were maintained in a safe condition. Evidence: The front door brick stairs to the entrance of the home had a missing brick and was lying on the pathway next to the stairs. The guard rail up the stairs was loose and an area of chipped and splintered. Plan of Correction: The following corrective action was provided by the licensee: The missing brick will be moved out of the way until it is able to be fixed and the railing will be tightened and repaired.
