Comments:
The licensing inspector conducted an unannounced monitoring inspection from 10:20am - 12:30pm. There were eleven children in care for a total of twenty one points with two caregivers. The children were observed playing, watching cartoons and preparing for lunch. Three caregiver's records and five children's records were reviewed. Standard #: 22VAC40-111-180-A
Description: Based on record reviews, the family day home failed to have a caregiver obtain a repeat tuberculosis screening every two years. Evidence: 1. The inspector reviewed three caregiver's records. One of three records reviewed (caregiver record #1) contained a tuberculosis screening that was over two years old. The screening was dated 04/18/2016.

Plan of Correction: Caregiver #1 has an appointment on 05/10/2018 to obtain a repeat tuberculosis screening.

Standard #: 22VAC40-111-460-I
Description: Based on observation, the family day home failed to have an animal litter box in an area inaccessible to the children. Evidence: 1. The inspector observed the family day home. There was a cat litter box in the floor in the bathroom that is primarily used by the children in care.

Plan of Correction: The provider will place the cat's litter box in the other bathroom that is not used by the children in care.
