A unannounced mandated monitoring inspection was conducted today. The provider is present with an assistant and 7 children in care. A total of 21 points today. The children were observed playing, reading books and getting ready for lunch. The provider is cooking lunch for the children, today they will have meatballs, carrot, peas and apple sauce. Lots of space to play and lots of toys to play with. Interaction between caregivers and children were observed during this inspection. Standard #: 22VAC40-111-960-E Description: Based on the review of the bottles in the refrigerator, the provider failed to label bottles with name and date of owner. Evidence: Out of 6 bottles observed in the refrigerator 5 of the bottles are not labeled with the child's name or date. Plan of Correction: I will label them and ask the parents to do it in the morning when they bring them.
Standard #: 22VAC40-111-690-D Description: Based on the review of the physical plant the provider has a diaper pad that are not non absorbent and can not be sufficiently sanitized. Evidence: The diaper pad has a large tear in the top and lots of the top of the plastic cover missing exposing the foam inner core. Plan of Correction: I will buy a new diaper changing mat.
