Technical Assistance:
Several e-mails have been sent regarding the new requirement for fingerprinting. If you have not received them, please go to our website at and review the "Bulletins" under Current providers. The first step is to contact the Office of Background Investigations at 804-726-7884 to get the Fieldprint Code for your family day home. Once the code is obtained, go online to and schedule an appointment to go have the electronic fingerprinting done. The locations are listed on the website. Results will be e-mailed to you. This replaces the Virginia State Police criminal history record. All caregivers and household members over the age of 18 must complete fingerprinting no later than September 30, 2018. Background checks are now valid for five years from the original date the check was completed.

An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted with the provider. There were no children present today; two children are due to come after school today. One new child's file and three household files were reviewed and are in compliance. First aid and CPR certification is due to be repeated 7/1/2018. Provider does not administer medication - Medication Administration Training is required to administer medication. Pet vaccinations are current. Emergency evacuation drills have been conducted as required. The last shelter in place drill was conducted 3/4/2018.

Time of today's inspection: 12:00 p.m. to 1:15 p.m. Please call me if you have any questions 540-219-4122 or e-mail

A compliance history is in no way a rating for a facility.

The online compliance history includes only information after July 1, 2003. In addition, the online compliance history includes information regarding adverse actions that may be the subject of a pending appeal. An adverse action is not final until a provider has exhausted or waived all due process rights. For compliance history prior to July 1, 2003, or information regarding the status of pending adverse actions, please contact the Licensing Inspector listed in the facility's information. The Virginia Department of Social Services (VDSS) is not responsible for any errors in or omissions from the compliance history information.

Virginia Quality is a voluntary quality rating and improvement system for early care and education facilities serving children ages birth through pre-K. Eligible child care facilities must be fully licensed, licensed exempt and a VDSS subsidy vendor, or a voluntary registered day home and a VDSS subsidy vendor. Only programs enrolled in Virginia Quality will display a rating. Virginia Quality contact information for your region is available at the following link Regional Contacts.
