22VAC40-191 Background Checks for Child Welfare Agencies
An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted today from 11:00am-12:00pm. There were 7 children (19 points) directly supervised by 3 staff. The home, 3 staff records, 4 children?s records, 1 household member?s records, evacuation drills, emergency supplies, and policies were inspected. There were no medications on site today. Children were observed playing freely and eating a lunch consisting of egg salad sandwiches, fresh fruit and water. There was an abundant supply of books, toys, and materials for the children. The home was clean and organized. Areas of non-compliance are identified in the Violation Notice. Standard #: 22VAC40-111-880 Description: Based on observation, the family day home did not follow the USDA guidelines for meals provided to children. Evidence: The lunch served to children did not contain milk. Plan of Correction: I will serve milk.
Standard #: 22VAC40-111-180-A Description: Based on record review, the provider did not obtain from each adult household member a a current Report of Tuberculosis Screening form, in accordance with the requirements in 22 VAC 40-111-170, every two years from the date of the first screening. Evidence: Adult 2's most current Tuberculosis screening was conducted on 4/26/2016. Plan of Correction: An appointment will be made as soon as possible.
Standard #: 22VAC40-111-200-A Description: Based on record review, the provider did not orient the assistant provider by the end of their first week of assuming job responsibilities. Evidence: There is no documentation that Adult 4 has received an orientation. Plan of Correction: I have the form and will make sure the staff member knows the required information.
