Comments:
An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted from 11:00am -12:15pm. Upon arrival there were 5 children in care totaling 5 points with 1 caregiver. The children were observed during toileting, playing with kinetic sand, and lunch. The youngest child in care was 5 years-old and the oldest was 11 years-old. 5 Caregiver records were reviewed in addition to 5 children's records. The licensee did not have any children with medications.

Violations:
Standard #: 22VAC40-111-240-A
Description: Based on observation the licensee did not ensure all areas of the home were safe. Evidence: The railing leading to the entrance of the home was wobbly on one side and the caps to top the railings were loose and easily removed when touched.

Plan of Correction: The following corrective action was provided by the licensee: The caps will be glued to the top of the railing and all parts of the railing will be secured.

Standard #: 22VAC40-111-320-B
Description: Based on observation the licensee did not ensure there were child-resistant protective covers larger than 1-1/4 inches in diameter installed on all unused electrical outlets. Evidence: In the bathroom used by the children in care, there were 2 electrical outlets that were not covered.

Plan of Correction: The following corrective action was provided by the licensee: Covers will be placed on the electrical outlets today.
