- Technical Assistance:
**Discussed with provider requirements for potential adult roommates to include all required background checks prior to the adult living in the family day home. **Discussed children who live in the home count toward "points" which is a method that assigns a point value to children based on age to determine the maximum amount of children that one caregiver can adequately supervise. Children living in the home do not count toward the capacity of the family day home. **The provider shall hire an assistant prior to enrolling more children as the provider is nearing the maximum point threshold for adequate supervision.
An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted today from 10:30am-12:00pm. There were 8 children, including the provider's own children (15 points) directly supervised by the provider. The home, 1 staff records, 4 children?s records, evacuation drills, emergency supplies, and policies were inspected. There were no medications on site today. Children were observed playing freely. There was an abundant supply of books, toys, and materials for the children. The home was clean and organized. Areas of non-compliance are identified in the Violation Notice. If you have any questions regarding this inspection, please contact the Licensing Inspector, Kara Wright at Kara.firstname.lastname@example.org or 703-537-6241.
Standard #: 22VAC40-111-60-A Description: Based on record review, one of four children's records were incomplete. Evidence: Child 4's record did not contain the addresses and phone numbers for two emergency contacts, the address of the father's place of employment, an authorization for emergency medical care, or documentation for the child's proof of age and identity. Plan of Correction: I will ask the parent's to complete the missing information.
