A Subsidy Health and Safety inspection was conducted on 7/25/2018 to review supplemental health and safety requirements. An unannounced renewal inspection was conducted today from 10:40am-1:30pm. There were 5 children (12 points) directly supervised by 2 staff. The home, 2 staff records, 5 children?s records, evacuation drills, emergency supplies, and policies were inspected. There were no medications on site today. The provider does not provide transportation or nighttime care. The family room, dining room and kitchen areas of the home are utilized for child care. Children were observed playing freely, eating lunch and interacting with the provider during the inspection. There was an abundant supply of books, toys, and materials for the children. Areas of non-compliance are identified on the Violation Notice. A licensing inspection was also conducted this date; the two inspections combined cover all subsidy health and safety requirements. Only subsidy requirements that are not covered in licensing standards are reviewed during this supplemental inspection. Violations were found during the supplemental subsidy health and safety inspection requirements and are identified on the violation notice. Standard #: VENDHOM-000-012-B Description: Based on staff record review, caregivers did not complete the Virginia Preservice Training for Child Care Staff within the first 90 days of service.
Staff#1 and staff#2 did not have documentation that the required Preservice Training for Child Care Staff was completed. Other trainings were completed from the site that provides the preservice training.
Plan of Correction: We took the wrong training, we will take the correct training.
Standard #: VENDHOM-000-030-A-3 Description: Based on record review and interview, the home did not practiced lockdown procedures at least annually. Evidence: There was no documentation of lockdown procedures practiced during the 2017 year or during the current year. Plan of Correction: We will practice and document the lockdown practice procedures.
