Technical Assistance:
Today we discussed the lake located at the back of the property. There is a fence which separates the back yard from the lake. However, the fence does have footholds (openings in the fencing material which would allow a child to place their foot in the opening and climb over the fence). At this time the provider utilizes the front yard for children to play outdoors.

An announced Subsidy Health and Safety Monitoring inspection was conducted from 12:30 p.m. until 3:15 p.m. At the time of entrance, 3 children, ages 3 to 3 years old, for a total of 6 points, were in care with the vendor. The records sample size consisted of 4 enrolled children?s records and 2 provider / assistant/ household member records. Children were observed resting quietly at nap time during the inspection. Restroom procedures, hand washing free play and afternoon snack time were also observed. The applicant states that transportation is provided for a child who attends before and after school care and that, on occasion, the other children may accompany her in the vehicle with written authorization from their parent(s). The vendor reports that there are no children currently enrolled who have food allergies, medication is not administered to children in care and there have been no accidents or injuries since the last inspection. A licensing inspection was conducted on the same date as the SHSI supplemental inspection; the two inspections combined cover all subsidy health and safety requirements. Only subsidy requirements that are not covered in licensing standards are reviewed during this supplemental inspection. No violations of the supplemental subsidy health and safety requirements were found.

A compliance history is in no way a rating for a facility.

The online compliance history includes only information after July 1, 2003. In addition, the online compliance history includes information regarding adverse actions that may be the subject of a pending appeal. An adverse action is not final until a provider has exhausted or waived all due process rights. For compliance history prior to July 1, 2003, or information regarding the status of pending adverse actions, please contact the Licensing Inspector listed in the facility's information. The Virginia Department of Social Services (VDSS) is not responsible for any errors in or omissions from the compliance history information.

Virginia Quality is a voluntary quality rating and improvement system for early care and education facilities serving children ages birth through pre-K. Eligible child care facilities must be fully licensed, licensed exempt and a VDSS subsidy vendor, or a voluntary registered day home and a VDSS subsidy vendor. Only programs enrolled in Virginia Quality will display a rating. Virginia Quality contact information for your region is available at the following link Regional Contacts.
