An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted today. The provider was caring for 3 children, totaling 5 points. Children's records, background checks, provider training, children's nutrition, emergency preparedness items, and the physical plant were inspected today. The children were observed actively engaged in creative play throughout the course of this inspection. Pleasant and inviting interactions between the provider and all children in care were observed today. This inspection was completed between approximately 10:00am and 11:20am. Standard #: 22VAC40-111-830-A
Description: Based on a review of emergency preparedness items, it was determined that the provider has not conducted an emergency evacuation drill each month. Evidence: The provider did not conduct an evacuation drill during the month of July, 2018.

Plan of Correction: I will remember to do the fire drill every month.

Standard #: 22VAC40-111-240-A
Description: Based on observations, it was determined that the outdoor play area has not been maintained as required. Evidence: 1 - The grass next to the patio area in the backyard play area is very long and needs to be mowed. 2 - The bucket attached to one of the children's tricycles is filled with water. This full bucket of water is a hazard in the fact that it is a possible breeding ground for bugs and mosquitoes.

Plan of Correction: The grass will be mowed today. I will empty the water immediately before the children go outside to play.

A compliance history is in no way a rating for a facility.

The online compliance history includes only information after July 1, 2003. In addition, the online compliance history includes information regarding adverse actions that may be the subject of a pending appeal. An adverse action is not final until a provider has exhausted or waived all due process rights. For compliance history prior to July 1, 2003, or information regarding the status of pending adverse actions, please contact the Licensing Inspector listed in the facility's information. The Virginia Department of Social Services (VDSS) is not responsible for any errors in or omissions from the compliance history information.
