An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted on Monday, September 24, 2018 from approximately 10:15 AM to 12:30 PM to determine the provider's compliance with licensing standards. There were four non-resident children in attendance being cared for by one caregiver. Based on the children?s ages there was a total of 12 points. The children were observed looking at books, coloring, singing songs, playing with toys, having their diapers changed and resting at nap time. During the inspection, the licensing inspector reviewed the following: emergency supplies, emergency preparedness plan, emergency drill logs, required postings, menu, caregivers? training hours and daily attendance. The provider stated medications are not being administered at this time. Transportation is not provided at this time. During the inspection five children's and one caregiver?s records were reviewed. If you have any questions about this inspection, please contact the Licensing Inspector, Lynn Powers at (804) 662-9790.
Standard #: 22VAC40-111-730-D Description: Based on observation, the provider did not ensure all medications were kept in a locked place using a safe locking method that prevented access by children. Evidence: During the inspection, the licensing inspector observed an over the counter medication sitting on the window bench seat that was approximately two feet high, in the playroom where the children were located. Plan of Correction: Corrected during the inspection.
Standard #: 22VAC40-111-90-C Description: Based on review of five children's records, the provider did not obtain documentation of the required updated immunizations. Evidence: During the inspection, the licensing inspector observed the record for Child #4 (start date 10/23/17) contained immunization record dated 07/17/17. Child #4 is 16 months of age. Additional immunization records are required to be obtained every six months for children under two years of age. Plan of Correction: I will have the parents provide updated immunization records.
