Thank you for your time and assistance with the unannounced renewal inspection conducted today, October 18, 2018. The on-site inspection was held from 10:50 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. On this date, there were five children in the care of the provider (13 points). During the inspection, an assistant arrived. There were a total of five children enrolled in the program. There were five children's records reviewed, along with the records for the provider and one substitute provider/assistant. There were no medications being administered or on-site at the time of the visit, as is the policy of the provider. The exceptions to compliance were noted on the violation notice and the risk rating for the violations were noted on the supplemental page. Lunch was observed to meet USDA guidelines and consisted of turkey breast, mashed potatoes, stuffing, green beans, and milk. Some items reviewed/observed during the inspection included: diapering changing procedures, hand washing and bathroom procedures, nap time, lunch, choice time, music and movement, outdoor play, required posted information, emergency supplies, first aid kit, documentation of evacuation drills, refrigerator, freezer, and water temperature. Standard #: 22VAC40-111-920 Description: Based on observation and verification from the provider, there was no posted menu. Evidence: 1. There was no menu posted for the parents to see for the current week. 2. The provider confirmed she had not posted the menu this week. Plan of Correction: The provider will post her menu tonight.
Standard #: 22VAC40-111-50-A Description: Based on review of the written attendance record for the children and confirmation from the provider, not all of the children present were listed on today's attendance sheet. Evidence: 1. There were five children in care on 10/18/2018. There were three children that had not been recorded in writing that they were in attendance. 2. The provider verified that she had not recorded when three of the children arrived this morning. Plan of Correction: The provider recorded the time of arrival for the three children during the inspection and from now on she will have the parent sign their child in upon arrival
