Technical Assistance:
Technical assistance was provided regarding the background check now required for household member over 14 years old. Form was already mailed in, a copy will be sent to inspector when it is received by provider.

Comments:
An unannounced renewal inspection was conducted today from 9:00am-11:00am. There were 6 children (15 points) supervised by 1 direct caregiver. The home, staff records, children?s records, household member?s records, pet records, evacuation drills, emergency supplies, and policies were inspected. There were no medications on site today. Children were observed engaging freely and eating breakfast.. Diapering procedures were also observed. There was an abundance of books, toys, and materials, which were found to be developmentally appropriate for the children in care at the time of inspection. Positive interaction was observed during the inspection. Areas of non-compliance are identified in the Violation Notice. Thank you for your cooperation during this inspection. Standard #: 22VAC40-111-280
Description: Based on observation, cleaning agents were accessible to children. Evidence: A cleaning agent, keep out of reach of children: was located on the dresser, accessible to children, in the room the children sleep in.

Plan of Correction: Corrected on site.

Standard #: 22VAC40-111-430-A
Description: Based on observation, children under the are of children have access to stairs. Evidence: There is not a gate in place to make the stairs leading to the basement inaccessible to children.

Plan of Correction: I will install a gate.
