An unannounced renewal inspection was conducted today from 11:45am-2:00pm. There were 10 children (33 points) supervised by 3 direct care staff. The home, 3 caregiver records, 5 children?s records, 3 household member?s records, evacuation drills, emergency supplies, and policies were inspected. There were no medications on site today. Children were observed listening to music, napping, playing with cars, and engaging in free play. Diapering, hand washing, and bottle-feeding procedures were also observed. There was an abundance of books, toys, and materials, which were found to be developmentally appropriate for the children in care at the time of inspection. Standard #: 22VAC40-111-960-E Description: Based on observation, 2 of 3 bottles were not labeled with the child's full name. Evidence: Child #2 (date of birth: 8/22/2018) had 2 bottles that were not labeled with the child's name. Plan of Correction: I will ask the parents to put the names on starting tomorrow.
Standard #: 22VAC40-111-60-B Description: Based on record review, 1 of 5 children's records did not contain all of the required information. Evidence: Child #8's (start date: 9/5/2017) did not contain documentation of a completed physical form signed by a physician, and parent acknowledgement of annual review of emergency contact information. Plan of Correction: I will ask the parents for the missing information this evening.
Standard #: 22VAC40-111-320-A Description: Based on observation, 2 small electrical appliances were not unplugged and were not being used by the caregiver or with children under close supervision. Evidence: A toaster oven and a blender in the kitchen were plugged in and were not in use. Plan of Correction: Corrected during the time of inspection.
