An unannounced renewal inspection was conducted today from 12:45pm - 2:00pm. There were 7 children (18 points) directly supervised by 2 staff. The home, 2 staff records, 5 children?s records, 3 household member?s records, evacuation drills, emergency supplies, and policies were inspected. There were no medications on site today. Children were observed interacting with the caregivers and napping. There was an abundant supply of books, toys, and materials for the children. The home was clean and organized. Standard #: 22VAC40-111-830-C Description: Based on review of emergency drills and interview, the family day home did not conduct a minimum of two shelter-in-place drills per year. Evidence: Only one shelter-in-place drill was documented in 2018. The only documented shelter-in-place drill was conduced on 4/16/2018. Plan of Correction: We will conduct a shelter-in-place drill this Friday and add it to the form.
Standard #: 22VAC40-191-60-C-2 Description: Based on record review, the family day home did not obtain central registry results for a staff member within 30 days of employment. Evidence: Staff#2's record does not contain central registry results. The staff member's first day of employment was documented as 12/17/2018. Plan of Correction: We submitted the form but we have not received the results back. I will call the agency to check on the form.
