Discussed new subsidy regulations.
A Subsidy Health and Safety inspection was conducted on 2/21/2019 to review supplemental health and safety requirements. . There were 12 children (28 points) supervised by 3 direct care staff. The home, 3 staff records, 8 children?s records, evacuation drills, emergency supplies, and policies were inspected. There were no medications on site today. Children were observed watching a video, playing with dolls, tea sets, cars and trucks, eating lunch and napping. There was an abundance of books, toys, and materials, which were found to be developmentally appropriate for the children in care at the time of inspection. A licensing inspection was also conducted this date; the two inspections combined cover all subsidy health and safety requirements. Only subsidy requirements that are not covered in licensing standards are reviewed during this supplemental inspection. Violations were found during the supplemental subsidy health and safety inspection requirements and are identified on the Violation Notice. Standard #: 22VAC40-665-170-B-12 Description: Based on record review, the family day home did not ensure that each child with a diagnosed food allergy has a written care plan. Evidence: Child #3 (start date: 8/3/2015) has a diagnosed food allergy with emergency medication, and no documentation of an written allergy action plan. Plan of Correction: The child was recently diagnosed with allergies less than 6 months ago. The action plan has been written and posted .
Standard #: 22VAC40-665-410-A-1 Description: Based on record review, the family day home did not maintain documentation of fire drills practiced monthly. Evidence: There was no documentation of a completed fire drill for January 2019. Plan of Correction: The printer was fixed and the 2019 form was printed and updated with the drill performed in January 2019.
