Technical assistance was given on ensuring the background checks are completed and sent to me, along with the TB results.
An unannounced renewal inspection was conducted today from 9:30am-11:30am. There were 5 children (14 points) supervised by 2 direct caregivers. The home, programming, staff records, children?s records, household member?s records, evacuation drills, emergency supplies, and policies were inspected. There were no medications on site today. Children were observed engaging freely and interacting positively with caregivers. There was an abundance of books, toys, and materials, which were found to be developmentally appropriate for the children in care at the time of inspection. Standard #: 22VAC40-111-830-D Description: Based on review of emergency procedures, shelter in place drills were not documented. Evidence: There is no documentation of shelter in places drills. Plan of Correction: I will get a new sheet and make sure to document the drills.
Standard #: 22VAC40-111-90-C Description: Based on review of 6 children's records, 2 records, for children under the age of 2, do not have documentation of an updated immunization every 6 months. Evidence: Child #1 and #2 do not have documentation of updated immunization records, current records expire 8/30/18 and 7/26/18 respectively. Plan of Correction: I will get a copy of updated immunization records from the families.
Standard #: 22VAC40-111-170-A Description: Based on review of household members records, not all records have documentation of a negative Tuberculosis (TB) screening. Evidence: Household member #1 and #2 do not have documentation of a TB screening. Plan of Correction: We have take them to get their TB screening done.
Standard #: 22VAC40-111-180-A Description: Based on review of provider records, provider does not have a current Tuberculosis (TB) screening form. Evidence: Staff #1 does not have a current TB screening form on file, current one expired 3/2/19. Plan of Correction: I will get it done and send you the results.
Standard #: 22VAC40-111-250-A Description: Based on observation, hanging items are not out of reach for children under the age of five. Evidence: A window blind cord in handing where it is accessible to children while in a crib. Plan of Correction: Corrected during the inspection.
Standard #: 63.2-1720.1-B-2 Description: Based on review of household member records, 1 record does not have documentation of a eligible fingerprint. Evidence: Household member #1 has not an eligible fingerprint on file. Plan of Correction: We had to get a valid ID and are waiting for it to arrive, we will do the fingerprint as soon as it comes and send you the letter.
