Discussed unplugging small appliances after use. Discussed the emergency practice drills and the emergency plan.
An unannounced renewal visit was conducted today between the hours of 9:51am through 11:30am with the provider on site. There were 4 children (8 points) with the provider. A sample of 5 children's files and 3 staff/household member's files were reviewed. The children were engaged in the following: Playing with play dough, musical instruments, puzzles and toy play. Interactions between the children and provider were positive. The site was clean, organized and contained an abundant supply of developmentally appropriate materials. The physical space, evacuation drills, attendance records and the Emergency Preparedness Plan were reviewed. Areas of non-compliance are identified in the violation notice. Standard #: 22VAC40-111-800-B Description: Based on review, the provider did not review the emergency plan and update the plan as needed. Evidence: 1. The provider moved to a new location on February 24, 2019 and had not updated the emergency plan with the new address. Plan of Correction: I will updated it today.
Standard #: 22VAC40-111-830-C Description: Based on record review and interview, the provider did not maintain documentation of the emergency evacuations that were practiced. Evidence: 1. The provider stated she did the emergency evacuation drills for December and January, but did not document the drills. The February drill was the only drill listed on the Record of emergency response drills. Plan of Correction: I will make sure I write it down each month.
Standard #: 22VAC40-111-60-B Description: Based on review of 5 children's records, 1 of 5 records were not complete. Evidence: 1. Child #5's file (start date 12/07/2018) was missing the medical insurance policy number. Plan of Correction: I messaged the parent during the inspection and will update it.
