Technical Assistance:
Technical assistance today included restructuring the living room to accommodate an increase in capacity of children.

Comments:
An unannounced monitoring inspection took place today from 10 am - 12 pm. There were five children present with the provider and assistant for 13 points. I observed children building with Legos, talking about colors, and playing with toys. I also observed children at lunch and beginning preparation for naptime. Record keeping was well-organized and complete. There were no children's medications present. If you have any questions, please contact me at brenda.kuhlman@dss.virginia.gov

Violations:
Standard #: 22VAC40-111-240-A
Description: Based on observation during the inspection, some areas were found to not be maintained in a safe condition. Evidence: Outdoors: The back fencing bordering the neighbor has areas of broken and sharp wood; the utility cable on the edge of the house is not securely attached in the area where children play; and the lattice wood fencing below the deck has sharp areas accessible.

Plan of Correction: We will put orange net construction fencing up to block the area. I will put duct tape on the cable, and tape the sharp edges and look at replacing it.
