54.1-3408 Provider must be MAT certified to administer prescription medication.

Technical Assistance:
Infants shall spend no more than 30 minutes of consecutive time during waking hours, with the exception of mealtimes, confined in a crib, high chair or other confining piece of equipment. The intervening time period between confinements shall be at least one hour. Use of media such as television, computers, etc shall be limited to not more than a total of two hours per day.

Comments:
An unannounced renewal inspection was conducted beginning at 10:00 a.m. and ending at 12:00 p.m. with the provider and assistant. There were seven children in care ranging in age from four months through four years of age for a total of nineteen points. Children were observed watching children's sing-a-long songs on the television, completing puzzles and having free play. Children were observed hand washing before snack. Snack today was goldfish crackers and milk. After snack, children had sing-a-long time with the children's sing-a-long songs and free play. A seven month old was observed being fed baby food and a bottle. Four children's records, two caregiver records and three household member records were reviewed. Both the provider and the assistant completed 16 hours of training for the license year. Emergency supplies were observed. Description: Based on observation and interview with the provider, the weekly menu was not given to parents or posted or placed in an area accessible to parents;. Evidence: The weekly menu was in the upstairs of the home but the parents do not have access to that area of the home.

Plan of Correction: A copy of the menu will be posted on the parent board

Standard #: 22VAC40-111-960-E
Description: Based on observation, the provider failed to refrigerate bottles. Evidence: A prepared infant bottle was observed in a tray on the table in the childcare area.

Plan of Correction: Prepared bottles will be refrigerated or disposed of if finished.

Standard #: 22VAC40-111-50-A
Description: Based on observation, attendance was not recorded for Wednesday, May 8, 2019. Evidence: At 10:00 a.m., there were no children on the written attendance record.

Plan of Correction: Attendance was completed during the inspection.
