An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted today. The provider was not home during this inspection. It was reported to the Inspector that the provider will be off site for the majority of the day today for a prearranged absence. In her absence, the children were in care with one substitute provider and two assistant caregivers. The substitute and assistants are fully qualified to act in their respective roles in the provider's absence. During this inspection there were 9 children in care, totaling 22 points. Two additional children were expected to arrive later in the day. Children's records, children's nutrition, programming, staff:child interactions, emergency preparedness items, caregiver/adult records, the physical plant, and background checks were inspected today. It was reported to the Inspector that no children's medications were on site today. The children were observed playing with toys, building with blocks, and playing outside. The children were to be served lamb and rice with tomato sauce, pears, mixed vegetables, and milk for lunch today. This inspection was completed between approximately 10:00am and 11:20am.
