Comments:
A Subsidy Health and Safety inspection was conducted from 12:15-2:15pm to review supplemental health and safety requirements. There were 7 children (20 points) in the direct care and supervision of one caregiver. A sample of 4 children's records, 4 caregiver/household member records, the first aid kit, emergency materials, the emergency plan, the outdoor space, and the home were reviewed. It was nap time so the children were observed laying down on their cots and falling asleep. The day care space was organized and there was an abundance of age appropriate materials available for the children. The Provider is still in the process of obtaining approval from zoning to move her day care to the basement area. A licensing inspection was conducted on the same date as the SHSI supplemental inspection; the two inspections combined cover all subsidy health and safety requirements. Only subsidy requirements that are not covered in licensing standards are reviewed during this supplemental inspection. No violations of the supplemental subsidy health and safety requirements were found. If you have any questions, please contact me at shahana.green@dss.virginia.gov .
