Technical Assistance:
All infant cribs shall be moved away from the window coverings when in use. The provider shall obtain written permission from parents if she chooses to use the backyard wading pool.

Comments:
An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted today. The provider and two assistant caregivers were caring for 11 children, totaling 32 points. Children's records, caregiver training, background checks, children's nutrition, children's programming and activities, the indoor/outdoor physical plant, and emergency preparedness items were inspected today. The children were observed playing outside, playing with toys, and the infants were observed being fed lunch. The older children were to be served hamburgers, peas/carrots, strawberries, rice, and milk for lunch today. This inspection was completed between approximately 10:00am and 11:40am. Violations:
Standard #: 22VAC40-111-940-A
Description: Based on observations, it was determined that one refrigerator was not maintained at 40degrees or lower. Evidence: The refrigerator used to store the infant bottles was maintained at a temperature of 45 degrees.

Plan of Correction: I will adjust the setting to make it colder.

Standard #: 22VAC40-111-960-E
Description: Based on observations, it was determined that infant bottles were not labeled as required. Evidence: Three infant bottles and three bags of breast milk were not labeled with each child's name.

Plan of Correction: I will remember to keep the bottles labeled.

Standard #: 22VAC40-111-60-B
Description: Based on a review of children's records, it was determined that one record was not complete. Evidence: Child record C does not include documentation showing that the parent has reviewed their child's file within the past year.

Plan of Correction: I will ask the parent to review the file and sign the form.
