Comments:
An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted beginning at 8:20 a.m. and ending at 9:45 a.m. with the provider and two assistants. There were 10 children in care ranging in age from 2 months to 4 years old for a total of 25 points and the provider's child for a total of 27 points. Children were observed cleaning up after free play. Children earned stickers for putting their toys away in an organized manner. Children then had coloring time. Younger children were observed having free play with a variety of toys. After coloring and play, children prepared for morning snack. Snack was pear slices, pita chips and water. After snack, preschool children had circle time while the younger children had free play. An infant was observed in his crib, being held, and being fed a bottle. Three staff records including two new staff and three children's records were reviewed. Emergency drills are up to date. The weekly menu is posted. If you have any quesitons regarding this inspection, contact Stephanie Reed at (540) 272-6558 or S.Reed@dss.virginia.gov.
